IT Field Technician (Intern)

The Details:

Overwatch Data Services is seeking a candidate to perform remote service, repairs, and troubleshooting of PC Systems, Servers, and Networking. The ideal candidate will have a desire to resolve complex problems in a quick and efficient manner to save the customer time and money. The candidate must be self-driven and want to keep up with the latest technology trends, designs, and processes.
This position can be primarily work from home, but onsite visits to customers are required occasionally
Field Technician Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches
  • Provide remote service and assistance via remote screenshare
  • Provide service and customer support via online ticketing system
  • Manage all on site installation, repair, maintenance and test tasks
  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions
  • Produce timely and detailed service reports
  • Document processes
  • Operate vehicle in a safely manner and use field automation systems
  • Follow all company’s filed procedures and protocols
  • Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization
  • Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings
  • Build positive relationships with customers

Work Hours

Working hours will consist of Monday through Friday from 9AM through 5PM. Occasional weekend work may be needed. Occasional after hours (on call rate) may be needed. Work hours are very flexible and this position is a fairly low volume workload with great opportunities for paid, self growth and trainings.

This position is scheduled for 20 hours per week. This position is eligible for Paid Time Off, Holiday Pay and Company Bonuses, employer match 401(k) after successful completion of training, orientation and any time requirements as defined by our handbook.

Compensation: $12.00-$17.00/hr DoE

Education, Experience, and Other Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Active Directory troubleshooting
  • Windows PC troubleshooting
  • Microsoft office
  • Microsoft office 365
  • Google apps/Gsuite
  • Willingness to learn
  • Familiarity with a ticketing system is a bonus
  • Must be a resident of the State of Michigan
  • Strong preference to candidates in West Michigan
